Railway Car Department Officers' Association

The Railway Car Department Officers' Association was a professional association of railroad car-department officers, the supervisory and technical personnel responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of railcars. The organization operated under this name beginning in 1926 as one stage in the history of the professional body now known as the Railcar Technical Services Association (RTSA).

The association traces its origins to 1901 and was renamed several times over the years as it merged with and absorbed related car-department groups. For the full naming history and the organization's current activities, see the entry for Railcar Technical Services Association (RTSA).
