Centralized Station Master (CSM)

An industry reference file containing geographic data for use by railroads to plan freight movement across multiple roads or multiple modes of shipment. Each CSM record can be uniquely identified by their Standard Point Location Code (SPLC) or by a combination of Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC) and Freight Station Accounting Code (FSAC). CSM information is critical to several industry data systems, including:

• Interline Settlement System (ISS)
• Price Database
• National Rate Management System (NRMS)
• Rate EDI Network (REN)
